My day started on Thursday morning at 4:00am in Auburn Hills, Michigan where
I've been working for the past 3 weeks, finished packing and ate breakfast
and checked out of the hotel around 5:00am and got on the road to make my
way home. The road conditions were good so I managed to arrive home at
around 10:30am. At this point I would have loved to get some sleep but there
is much to be done. I purchased a new snowblower ($1000) so that in the
event of a snow storm my wife can have an easier job clearing our drive way.
Well wouldn't you know it the tires came off of the damn thing, and this is
a brand new blower, anyway long story short I phoned the company for
warranties and such and ended up driving to a place to make the repairs.
These tires are small in diameter and a gas station air pump will not do has
to be done in a shop. So again long story short I made a modification and
got the guy at the store to put Tubes in the tire to make them easier to
inflate. Anyways did some laundry, went out for lunch went to pickup the
snowblower etc.. before we know its 4:30PM, got back home did some more
cleaning and stuff and decided to depart at 6:30pm and made our way towards
the ACC.
By the time we arrived it was 7:45pm made our way in and grabbed some Hot Dogs and Drinks which cost us something like $400,000 (sarcasm), and before we knew it 8:00pm came and the Ravenettes (ps?) were on stage singing as they were nearing the end of their 8-9 Song Set, mother nature (bladder) was calling so off to the bathroom we go, as we were returning back to our seats, from outside the arena area I heard a familiar song singing along with the Ravenettes...Yup it was Martin!! it was such a nice gesture for him and I'm sure it helped warm up he's vocals. Since this was the Ravenettes last night opening on the tour Martin thanked the Ravenettes for their outstanding work and how well they got along together Martin thanked them and told the audience to give them a hand for doing such a good job. The Ravenettes sang two more songs and the stage preparation began for DM to get on stage, this process took about 35-45 Minutes, at which point the lights dimmed and the band made their way onto the stage. Below is the set list in the order they played. Set List at the Air Canada Center 01 - A Pain That I'm Used To Encore #1 17 - Somebody Encore #2 20 - Never Let Me Down Again Of all the concerts that I have ever attended this one had one of the best Projection Screens / Special effects setup ever!!! the majority of the video was Live with multiple cameras and multiple angles with very unique color and visual effects. The performance was great, Dave was full of energy I think even more than I've ever seen him before, as noted by others Martin was also more active on Stage, Andy wasn't clapping but seem to be preoccupied with these headphones he put to he's ear once in a while. The Crowd was a bit cold for the newer tracks, as it seemed they were not familiar with them, which is some mutterings I heard from the crowd around me, so when Dave asked for audience participation (sing it), didn't get anything. 30 minutes into the concert the crowd did warm up and finally the entire place got into full swing with clapping / arm waving and singing along. Now on a not so happy note, a good portion of the concert was ruined for my Wife and I by these F**kTards (its my new word for F***ng Retards), Two Couples, who decided to start smoking up in a non smoking venue right next to us and started acting stupid as they were drunk. I would like to thank (sarcasm) the totally useless Usher who at first did see the smoking came over to do something and ended up doing nothing, she just stood there staring at them, the guy next too me realized the usher was there so he flipped the special cigarette in he's palm to hide from view, although you could see the smoke rising the usher said "I don't see anything" and walked away. Other than that, it was a great concert and I'm glad I got to see them. Rafi |
