SURREY BROWN CAPS V YORKSHIRE CARNEGIE at Guildford (Pro40 League), 20 JULY 2008

Surrey have won five out of their last six one-day meetings with Yorkshire, so the omens are good from that point of view. Also, the last six one-day matches at Guildford have gone win lose win lose win lose for the Brown Caps. If that is anything to go by, tomorrow could see Surrey's sixth win of the season in all competitions.

Based on their performances in the Friends Provident Trophy, Yorkshire will be looking to Jacques Rudolph, Andrew Gale, Anthony McGrath and Craig White to score their runs and Tim Bresnan, Darren Gough and Richard Pyrah to take the wickets. But since the group stage of the FPT, the Carnegie's international seamers, Matthew Hoggard and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, have returned from injury. So, the home side can expect runs to be particularly hard to come by.

To follow... sorry.

Mark Ramprakash has overcome his bout of food poisoning, so is expected to lead the side tomorrow. James Benning and Pedro Collins have also been declared fit. But there is no sign yet of Mark Butcher and Matt Nicholson returning to action.

The other day I had to get a friend to remind me of all the matches that Surrey have won this season. There weren't many, but the only one I could recollect was the Friends Provident victory at Hove. If my mindset is that Surrey don't win, I hope the players are able to keep a perspective on things. My prediction? Yorkshire win. I'd love to be proved wrong, though.

A Gale, A Lyth, A McGrath, J Rudolph, G Brophy (wk), A Rashid, T Bresnan, R Pyrah, Naved-ul-Hasan, D Gough (capt) and M Hoggard.
