FIRST INNINGS
"Right now, the fixtures are all over the place, but, bizarrely, this summer, Saturday is the day of the week when the least amount of county cricket is being played. It's as if the ECB believes the last thing anyone would want to do on Saturday is watch cricket - and these are the people who are in charge of promoting the game in this country!"

KEENOSE KOMMENTS
"The trend in the championship has been to play two spinners, neither of whom can bowl sides out or only four bowlers. It is the seamers who are doing the damage and we need to play four if at all possible - injuries and the Nel temper permitting."

NEWS DIGEST
Chris
Adams said: "I guess I'm attracted to the broken souls, if you like, and people who find themselves in the scenario and situation that Andrew Symonds does because if we can provide an environment for him and a place for him to come back and almost repair and reinvent himself then again it's a win-win. We'll get the best out of him and he'll get the best out of us."
