DURHAM V SURREY at the Riverside (Royal London One-Day Cup), 31 JULY 2015

The Riverside plays host to two of the three sides to have enjoyed an unbeaten start to their 2015 Royal London One-Day Cup campaign. That Surrey will start as favourites has more to do with the drubbing they gave Northants and the resilience they showed against Yorkshire than the Oval outfit's one-day record at Chester-le-Street, which is dreadful.

Durham are in bristling form, though. Five of their top six in the batting order are currently averaging 45.00 or more in the Royal London, most notably Paul Collingwood, who made 132 at Northampton, and skipper Mark Stoneman, who struck 112 against Somerset yesterday.

Collingwood's sphere of influence is not only restricted to his batting. The veteran of 68 Tests and 197 ODIs for England has also proved frugal with the ball, while John Hastings has been the undisputed spearhead. The 29-year-old Australian has opened his RLODC account with returns of 4-35 and 5-41.

In terms of the hosts, Steve Borthwick (47) is approaching the fifty one-day wicket mark and Paul Collingwood will start with 199 catches in List A one-day cricket.

Once again Rory Burns and Tim Linley have been named alongside a winning eleven, to make up Surrey's 13-man squad. So, once again, don't expect any changes.

Surrey have won just two of their last 11 one-day meetings with Durham - both of which have come at the Oval. My heart says this is a new Surrey, but my head says look at the history. Prediction - Surrey to lose their unbeaten tag.
