WELSH DRAGONS V SURREY LIONS at Cardiff (CB40), 2 JUNE 2012

Tomorrow's CB40 clash at Cardiff sees the Welsh Dragons, who, with one defeat and one no result, are yet to break their duck, face Surrey, who boast a one hundred percent record.

In the last three years the Welshmen have struggled to make an impression in the 40-over arena; during that time scoring just eight victories to 17 defeats.

Last summer's CB40 provided just three reasons for cheer. Gareth Rees collected 567 runs from ten completed innings. 23-year-old seamer, Will Owen took 15 wickets at 15.53 runs apiece and Dean Cosker, who was the only other bowler to take ten wickets for Glamorgan, showed he has lost none of his guile. Perhaps the biggest negative was the form of Mark Wallace, who has been promoted to skipper. He averaged a mere 11.10 with the bat in last year's CB40, in addition to less than a dismissal per match with the gloves.

While Murali Kartik looks set to make his Surrey debut, Steven Davies, with 147, is closing in on 150 List A one-day career dismissals.

Zafar Ansari is unavailable, owing to his university commitments, however Surrey have a pretty handy replacement in the shape of Murali Kartik. Tim Linley and Gary Wilson have been named in the 13-man squad, but are only likely to be pressed into action in an emergency.

Sussex 4 Sep 2011 NL Won By 71 Runs The Oval 228-7 (24) 157 (22)

The weather forecast suggests tomorrow's game will be a stop-start affair, but that there should be enough dry weather around to obtain a result. Surrey will start as massive favourites and it would be a huge surprise if their first defeat in this year's CB40 was at the hands of the Welshmen. Verdict - Surrey win.
